The Italian Air Force in 2014 began a series of adaptation and modernization works necessary to make the old infrastructure of the Amendola airbase suitable to meet the technical and operational requirements for new generation Joint Strike Fighter-F35 aircraft.
The hangar “Aviorimessa”- GammaDoors has been engaged to design and build for the hangar (about 3.460 sqm) an automated sliding door (see model Slidy Door) on rails to reach a free height of 8 meters and a width of 80 meters.
The structure of the leaves is in steel carpentry with cold-formed elements, dimensioned for a wind force up to 120 daN/sqm.
The 4 leaves are packed laterally by overlapping in parallel, sliding on rails.
